Marbling is a traditional technique of painting on Water’s surface that evokes fluidity and movement.

This series is process-based and inherently experimental. Working on Water, an unstable medium that allows each piece to evolve in unpredictable ways, offers a unique lens through which to consider ideas of control, order and disorder, and chance. The container of Water I use for marbling becomes a prototype of the cosmos, where everything is interconnected: each drop of paint expands across the surface, affecting the whole, much like our actions and thoughts ripple outward, creating a butterfly effect in the universe.
